Lessons

At Brock Equine we believe that no matter how well you ride, there is always room for improvement. You can never learn too much and there’s always more to learn. That’s why everyone can benefit from a good lesson program. Lessons given by a knowledgeable, experienced riding instructor can better your riding within just a few lessons. Do you know what a truly balanced horse feels like? A horse that is soft in your hand and responsive to your leg and seat is a pleasure to ride. At Brock Equine, we can teach you how to make your horse more responsive, be more balanced, and adjustable regardless of what discipline you ride. Now with a brand new course of jumps, we also offer jumping lessons for the more experienced rider. Our Riding Instructor has experience in Dressage, Hunters, Eventing, and Western.

Tired of fighting with your horse? Chances are, it’s not the horses fault and if you don’t believe me, come take a lesson and see. I will show you that most horse problems are truly people problems. Whether you are just getting started, stuck in a rut, or wanting to improve your current riding skills, we can help you reach your goals. If you’re interested in showing, although Brock Equine isn’t a high competition Equestrian Center, we do enjoy some low level Eventing, Schooling and Pleasure Shows, Hunter Paces, Jumper Derbies, Group Trail Rides and other Fun Activities.

Our Instructor has been teaching since 2000 doing freelance work and can teach you how to be more balanced in the saddle and how to communicate more effectively with every horse you ride. Do you want that feeling of connection with your horse? Using our principles and exercises, you’ll be feeling one with your horse in no time. So if any of this sounds appealing, please feel free to give us a call and set up an appointment. Please be aware that if you weigh over 180 lbs, we do not have a horse that can accommodate you at this time. Your safety is our primary concern and our experienced lesson horses will take good care of you. Meet our lesson horses.

Please meet Katie. At 13 years old, Katie has proven herself to be a very reliable lesson pony. She came to us from a private owner who’s small children were handling her. She’s a quiet little lesson pony for beginner to advanced kids or light adults. She’s done Jumper Derbies, trail rides, Evented, Hunter Paces, Poker Runs, Clinics, Obstacles, has showing experience with both lead line and independent riders. She’s very brave and just an all around nice pony.

Alec

Alec is one of our best beginner ponies, yet he is versatile enough to offer something to more experienced riders. He is as close to “bombproof” as they come and will handle just about anything gracefully. Trained in Dressage, he has shown at the lower levels, trail rides, obstacles and games. He is a favorite among our young riders.

Lessons are 45 minutes long and are $35 for a Semi-private and $45 for a Private. We offer lesson packages as well. Buy 4 lessons in advance and get 10% off.
